Mossy Nissan: Nearly $99,000 in First-Year Solar Savings
A dealership’s roof and parking lot can do more than shelter vehicles. SolarTech reports that Mossy Nissan in Chula Vista, California, saved $98,713 in its first year after installing a 391 kW solar system across rooftops and parking canopies. The carports also provide shade for vehicle inventory. This is a solar-only case study; the published project description does not identify battery storage.
What Arizona dealerships can learn
Showroom cooling, service equipment, lighting, and EV charging deserve a coordinated energy review. Rooftop and carport solar may reduce grid purchases. Batteries can be evaluated separately for demand management and selected backup loads. California savings do not establish an Arizona return: utility rates, load timing, project cost, and financing must be checked for each property.
